2. Deconstruction:

• Arrangement: (3)  The song is level six addictive on a scale of one to 10. Hearing it for the first time may surprise and appall one. However, the crazy Gregorian background music with the senseless English chant, coupled with the upbeat bass and percussion, is just a perfect whiff of “brainwashing” chants that I’ve suffered from LSS (last-song syndrome).
• Choreography: (4)  Korean pop music thrives on dancing and singing idols, and this song is a good example of mainstream pop culture in Korea. Exo-K’s choreography presented an added factor to “sugarcoat” the very poorly written English verses of the song.
• Meaning: (3) Despite the arguably cringe-worthy “Careless, careless. Shoot anonymous, anonymous.” part of the song, the translated lyrics talks about the detachment of humanity in mankind. This song surprisingly brings out two important questions: (1) what makes us human and (2) what have we done in our time. To be brutally honest, I am partial to this song. 너무 좋아요!
• Study Value: (3) The chorus and refrain have high recall rates to listeners that the song can easily be remembered and the lyrics somehow understood.
• Overall Rating: (3) Not a bad song to allow myself to drift into the Korean wave.
